On our Kidney Medicine Unit, you will be caring for our renal failure patients that are visiting for additional care or who are inpatients. You will use our state-of-the-art dialysis technology and follow our ‘patient-first’ methodology to deliver exceptional care. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey while interacting directly with patients and their families, enhancing their experience and providing education and support as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
• External applicants: two years of recent related nursing
• Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
• Military RN experience considered

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Open to new graduates, dialysis experience not required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

• Caregivers working days between 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week
• Required Saturday coverage
• On-call shifts 1–2 times every six weeks as needed
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
• Compliance with influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or approved exemption.
