About The Position
Big Bend Hospice is seeking compassionate, experienced PRN Registered Nurses to join our Inpatient Unit Night Shift Team. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses seeking flexible PRN scheduling while earning premium shift pay. The PRN RN on our Inpatient Unit will provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to hospice patients requiring short-term inpatient services. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing colleagues, social workers, chaplains, and other members of the interdisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered hospice nursing care.
Requirements
- Current Florida Registered Nurse License (or Compact RN License)
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary team
Nice To Haves
- Hospice, oncology, critical care, medical-surgical, or home health experience preferred
- CHPN Certification
- BSN
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered hospice nursing care
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing evaluations
- Administer medications and treatments while managing pain and symptoms
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Educate and support patients and their families
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life throughout every shift
