About The Position

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. Responsibilities include performing all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service, implementing procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice, and maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team. The RN will complete an initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and that is based on patient and family needs. They will implement the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures, and modify the plan of care based upon continuous evaluation. The role also involves taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents, communicating with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues, offering constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and conferring with colleagues to expand knowledge base. The RN will identify their own learning needs and take initiative to begin appropriate solutions, and fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies. Specific duties include Telephone Triage, Medication Refills, Patient Throughput for Assigned Physicians throughout clinic experience, managing the HVI IR RN Worklist (to include preauthorization and scheduling challenges), participating in the care of patients and serving as a resource for outpatient vein procedures, and acting as a resource for IR Physician and APP for outpatient appointments.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • College Diploma: Nursing (Required)
