About The Position

Marymount Hospital is a 269-registered-bed acute care, faith-based hospital serving Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County. Its 28-bed Intensive Care Unit is designed for high-acuity patients with serious medical conditions. Common procedures include bronchoscopy, endoscopy, emergent intubation, central line placement, continuous renal replacement therapy, pronation, and therapeutic hypothermia. The ICU RN provides direct nursing care and works with patients, families, visitors, and fellow caregivers to support quality care and effective life-saving treatment. The position includes rotating day and night shifts, with every-other-weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing with a diploma, ADN, or BSN.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
Military RN experience will be considered.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record, and communicate patients’ conditions.
Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and families using educational materials while considering cultural issues and other special concerns.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
