About The Position
Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services, part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, has been providing hope for individuals suffering from emotional and behavioral disorders, as well as alcohol and substance use disorders since 1991. This 62-bed facility, accredited by The Joint Commission, offers comprehensive, individualized treatment services delivered by a multidisciplinary team. Aiken Regional Medical Centers is a 273-bed acute care facility serving the Aiken community since 1917, recognized for its treatment of cardiovascular conditions and offering a wide range of healthcare services including behavioral health, emergency care, orthopedics, maternity, rehabilitation, imaging, and wound care. The Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, collaborating with psychiatrists on the level of care, facilitating admissions and referrals, performing pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and building relationships with referral sources. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective care coordination.
Requirements
- Nurse Degree from accredited university.
- Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply.
- Minimum one year experience in mental health setting performing assessments.
Responsibilities
- Addressing needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance
- Performing level of care mental health assessments
- Documenting in the electronic medical record
- Coordinating patient care with internal and external providers
- Maintaining department records/statistics
- Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed
- Participate in patient safety activities
- Receive and document physician orders as it pertains to admissions and/or patients in intake.
- Provide appropriate medical treatment within the scope of practice for an RN.
- Document and coordinate external transfers via MOT for patients experiencing a medical emergency in intake.
