About The Position

This is a full-time night shift position requiring three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role involves providing direct patient care in an inpatient setting, utilizing critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills. The nurse will be responsible for setting priorities of care and managing basic and skilled nursing needs. Effective communication with patients, families, and team members is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Strong organizational and time management skills are also required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.
  • Currently licensed as an RN through the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience.
  • Working experience charting in an EMR system.
  • Possesses clinical expertise related to critical thinking, assessment, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Possesses the ability to provide basic and skilled nursing care, set priorities of care, and appropriately assess limits of intervention.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding care issues.
  • Has the ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Must be CPR certified according to the American Heart Association CPR standards.
  • Understands the hospice philosophy, principles of death/dying, concepts of pain/symptom management, and adult teaching/learning principles.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in an acute setting preferred.
  • Netsmart system preferred.
