RN – Inpatient Pediatric Rehab

Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation has a family-centered pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program that provides care and rehabilitation to patients ranging from infancy to age 21 who require hospitalization or acute rehabilitation. This team’s care centers around patients with traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy surgery patients, spinal cord injuries, orthopaedic rehabilitation needs, spinal fusions and traction, complex injuries, neurologic disorders requiring rehabilitation, and burns. A PRN caregiver in this position works (12 hours shifts) day/evening/night/weekend, from 7:00am—7:30pm. Or 7:00pm—7:30am. Will work weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience
- Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation /90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
- Within one year of hire RNs in Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation will achieve and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
