Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This is a position within a busy 40-bed Level IV NICU. The infants in this unit can have conditions including prematurity, sepsis, respiratory distress, surgical emergencies, birth-related trauma, and other medical conditions. Sanford Children’s NICU is equipped with advanced technology such as synchronized intermittent mandatory ventilation, sophisticated pulmonary functioning testing, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and whole-body cooling. The air/ground flight team operating out of the NICU admits approximately 30% of the infants. The staff includes Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Neonatologists, RNs, Patient Care Techs, and Formula Technicians. Our specially trained flight nurses, APPs, and Respiratory Therapists provide transport services from North Dakota, northern South Dakota, and western Minnesota. Respiratory therapists are always staffed in the NICU, providing respiratory care and direct patient care. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners are on-site 24/7. This position is eligible for additional night and weekend differential pay. Applicable experience will be reviewed and factored into any potential offer.
