About The Position

RiverView Health, a community-owned, membership-based non-profit organization established in 1898, is the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN. We operate a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, the RiverView Recovery Center (a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program), RiverView Home Care, and five primary care and specialty clinics. RiverView is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. This temporary position for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Inpatient Unit specializes in OB or ED.

Requirements

• Current State of Minnesota RN license is required
• Current American Heart BLS certification. If not currently certified, training will be provided and certification must be obtained within 4 months of date of hire
• Current American Heart ACLS certification is required. If not ACLS certified, we will train within the first year
• Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
• Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

• 1+ year(s) of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• 1+ year(s) of ER experience
• 1+ year(s) of Medical-Surgical experience

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessment and triage based on patient acuity.
• Develop and implement care plans based on patient condition and medical protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Provide wound care, start IV lines, and monitor patient response.
• Respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, and trauma.
• Accurately document patient care and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Demonstrate compliance with all regulatory standards, infection prevention, and patient safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members.
• Provide patient education on care plans, discharge instructions, and medications.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately.
• Perform procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, blood draws, and wound care.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families during traumatic events.
• Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations.
