About The Position

The RN utilizes the nursing process as well as clinical nursing practice standards and is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for the Infusion Center patient. Responsibilities include directing unlicensed employee activity, synthesizing patient information, assessing patients, planning care/interventions, teaching patients/family, implementing treatment plan/MD orders, and evaluating care rendered. The RN must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care of the patient. This position will be a combined role of administering infusions along with patient navigation. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient age, cultural diversity, psycho-social and/or spiritual needs into the patient’s plan of care. The RN contributes to the promotion of quality nursing care through performance improvement processes that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. In addition, the RN collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current California RN License required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification required

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of ambulatory chemotherapy infusion nursing OR acute care experience in an Oncology setting highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with peripheral and central venous access devices and infusion therapy preferred.
  • Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher preferred
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, and other sensitive material in printed, electronic, or verbal form.
