About The Position

Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Cancer Center infusion services. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of patients receiving infusion services and chemotherapy. The nurse will provide necessary care according to department policies and procedures, uphold the mission and philosophy of the Cancer Center and Olympic Medical Center, and participate in patient and family education. The position maintains standards for professional nursing practice in an out-patient setting and may involve emergency care. The nurse is expected to participate in low census rotations if patient census dictates. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an inpatient or ambulatory medical clinic required.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse licensure required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology chemotherapy/immunotherapy experience preferred.
  • OCN certification within 3 years of hire strongly preferred.
  • If not OCN certified, must complete 12 oncology-based CEs annually or total of 36 in a 3-year period.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of Cancer Center infusion services and chemotherapy patients.
  • Provides the care needed as described in the department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates the values contained in the Cancer Center and Olympic Medical Center (OMC) mission and philosophy statements.
  • Participates in patient and family education.
  • Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the out-patient clinical setting.
  • Expected to participate on a rotational basis in low census in the event Sequim cancer services patient census dictates.
  • May perform emergency care.
