About The Position
The RN Infection Preventionist (IP) is a registered professional nurse (RN) who functions under the direction of the Infection Prevention Manager, or Director/ED/AVP of Quality, with a matrix relationship to the Executive Director of Infection Prevention at the system level. Responsibilities include hospital surveillance to identify healthcare-related infections and ensure public reporting for mandated Healthcare-associated infections. The role also involves assisting with the development of policy and procedures within the WellStar system, educating patients and team members, and routinely auditing and making physical rounds of facility departments to monitor Infection Prevention practices, including construction/renovation, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Single State or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Infection Prevention
Responsibilities
