About The Position

Join the Cleveland Clinic's New Neurological Institute and become part of one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations. We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. The Imaging RN will provide professional nursing care to patients receiving diagnostic or therapeutic services at Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute. The RN will support patients before, during, and after diagnostic imaging (e.g., MRIs, CT scans, X-rays) or minimally invasive interventional radiology procedures. They will manage patient sedation, monitor vital signs, and provide education to ensure safe, effective care. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and support throughout the patient's treatment journey. While critical care experience is a strong asset, candidates with solid medical-surgical backgrounds and strong critical thinking skills are also well-suited for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of employment.
  • One year of recent experience as an RN (or) Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for the required RN experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Two 2 years of recent RN experience.
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • In areas operating with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC Lines), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification is preferred within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records, and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the health care team.
  • Identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
