About The Position

The RN, Imaging Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of various areas of Imaging, including off-site hospital locations. Key responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, monitoring staff performance, providing staff education, and implementing and directing Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement activities for the department. This role also participates in department budget preparation and management, and acts as a liaison between customers, technical staff, medical staff, and other hospital departments. The supervisor is expected to provide complex nursing care, including monitoring and administering medications during procedures, performing related record-keeping and patient care functions, and serving as a patient advocate. Ensuring proper education and training for staff and patients is also a critical part of the role, requiring supervisory skills consistent with creativity, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • 5 years nursing experience in a hospital (inpatient roles) or clinical (outpatient roles) setting
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License Upon Hire
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire
  • ACLS Upon Hire

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily departmental nursing activities including quality patient care and the scheduling of personnel.
  • Functions as IR/CATH coordinator, working with the IR Team and scheduling to ensure patients are properly scheduled and prepared for their upcoming procedures.
  • Oversees orientation, continuing education, competency files and RN licensure for nursing staff.
  • Ensures attendance at mandatory staff meetings.
  • Establishes departmental goals and objectives with input from team members.
  • Assists PI coordinator with activities providing monthly statistical data and analysis.
  • Supervises departmental patient/staff/physician satisfaction.
  • Manages financial responsibility and contains costs containment for Imaging Nursing Services.
  • Supervises supply utilization and the ordering of supplies.
  • Supervises medication management policies and procedure for nursing staff.
  • Oversees and educates patients, family and staff.
  • Utilizes hospital and departmental computer systems effectively.
  • Assists in evaluation of staff performance.
  • May oversee CV as well.
