About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Operation of diagnostic x-ray, portable units, CT scan and c-arm equipment to provide quality images for interpretation. Operation of PACS to send images to desired locations. Utilize teleradiology to send studies for preliminary interpretation Prepare and administer contrast agents to patients Instructs and prepares patients for examination in accordance with specific needs of: pediatric patients, adolescent patients, adult patients and geriatric patients. Provides assistance patient may require. Transports inpatient and emergency room patients to Imaging and returns. After exam completion is responsible for coordinating patient records with current clinical data and prepares exam for interpretation. Responsible for care, unskilled maintenance, neatness and basic hygienic cleaning of Imaging rooms and equipment on a daily basis. Any equipment malfunctions will be reported to the Imaging Manager. Reports any acute or untoward symptoms to the Radiologist or attending physician. Provides coverage in General Radiology, CT scan, C-arm as needed. Needed supplies are reported to Imaging Manager for ordering. Responsible for attending professional and in service meetings. Maintains confidentiality of patient, hospital affairs and fellow employees. Perform work as requested from the Radiologist or Imaging Manager. Managing the workflow of staff, delegate tasks, help manager create schedules Facilitate a positive work environment Trains new Radiologic Technologists Assist manager in establishing employee performance expectations Performs twice daily event log check and notes on HIPAA log time and initials when complete. Checks charges and informs Imaging Manager of any findings to be investigated. Maintain departmental compliance with all applicable accreditation standards as well as all applicable federal, state and local statutes, laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. Seeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings, reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner. Uses patient handling equipment appropriate to the needs of the individual patient in keeping with the Safe Patient and Handling and Movement Policy. Adheres to the organizational leadership profile. Reliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet patient demands. Performs duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures Complies with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate policies and procedures Other duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT licensing
  • State of Maine license
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine
  • At least 3-5 years experience preferred
  • BLS
