About The Position

Requirements

• Three years of current medical/surgical experience in an acute care specialty area upon hire.
• Heart experience required upon hire.
• California Registered Nurse (CA RN) license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess and report patient abuse or neglect, and implement applicable department policies and procedures.
• Document education regarding advance directives upon admission, coordinate obtaining copies for the patient chart, and refer questions to Chaplain Services.
• Advocate for patients by initiating action when care decisions or activities conflict with their interests or wishes, and support informed healthcare decisions.
• Formulate and prioritize nursing diagnoses and patient problem lists based on observation and information from patients and the healthcare team.
• Correctly identify patients and use aseptic technique to withdraw, label, and process blood specimens.
