About The Position
As an RN with OPWDD, you will provide direct patient care in 6 group homes, following the MD orders, while having some flexibility in your schedule. You will provide professional nursing services including providing direct nursing care in the areas of health maintenance, nutrition, activities of daily living, and the treatment and prevention of illness.
Requirements
- Current, valid NY RN license
- Associates degree
- BLS, fire safety training
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency
- Must be cleared and maintain acceptable record under the NYS OPWDD mandated criminal background check process

- Prior experience with electronic health records including electronic MARs
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in 6 group homes.
- Follow MD orders.
- Provide professional nursing services including direct nursing care in health maintenance, nutrition, activities of daily living, and treatment/prevention of illness.
- Perform nursing interventions and document them.
- Conduct case finding.
- Provide health teaching/counseling.
- Provide supportive and/or restorative care.
- Participate in staff training.
- Prepare clinical and administrative reports.
- Maintain infection control standards.
- Function as a member of a treatment team.
- Provide supervision to subordinate professional, paraprofessional, and support staff.
- Maintain inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs and narcotics.
