The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides critical care to adult patients with varying conditions such as trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placements, strokes, vascular cases, renal and heart failure, and respiratory distress. RNs are responsible for titrating drips for cardiac conditions, insulin, and sedation, troubleshooting RT equipment, and reading/interpreting/documenting monitor strips.
