About The Position
This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit and periodically will float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds in case of low census. Provides Nursing Care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse performs a variety of responsible nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Nursing duties include the provision of inpatient care and support in the 5 Bed I.C.U. to individuals of all ages and their families. After-hours recovery of post-op general surgery, pediatric, & OB patients as needed.
Requirements
- Must have at least 3 years of prior ICU experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Must have and maintain a current valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the USA, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the USA.
- Must maintain current valid certification of Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association must be completed within six months of hire.
- Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within six months of hire.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS must be completed within six months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds when census is low.
- Perform inpatient care and support within a 5 Bed I.C.U.
- Handle after-hours recovery for post-op patients as needed.
