Mercy Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a family-focused, state-of-the-art unit with leading-edge, critical care technology and one of the finest multidisciplinary critical care teams. Caregivers in the ICU provide critical care for patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries and have either sustained or are at risk of suffering the failure of one or more vital functions, systems or organs. Patients in the ICU require rigorous care and monitoring to reverse their near-fatal conditions and temporarily support them while they recover. Types of procedures on this unit include intubation, TTM, CRRT, bronchoscopy, ICP monitoring, organ donation and post-operative care. Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (willing to obtain within one year of employment)
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
