About The Position

Gerber ICU is an 11-bed unit, with 2 observation beds and 9 inpatient beds. The unit is undergoing a refresh with new paint, flooring, and artwork. It is a mixed unit, accommodating both Med/Surg and ICU patients. The unit offers telemedicine services in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, wound, and VICU, with telemedical palliative care services coming soon. On-site services include MRI (6 days a week), CT, fluoroscopy, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, care management, and medical social workers. A key focus for the Gerber team is maintaining quality local care.

Requirements

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
• Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
• Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
