About The Position

The Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU is seeking a Registered Nurse responsible for providing patient care to young adults through geriatrics with conditions such as sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal and respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, and DKA. The RN will work with RT equipment and is expected to read and interpret tele strips.

Requirements

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• BSN required.
• License to Submit required.
• Driver's license submitted to confirm residency outside 50-mile radius from any CommonSpirit facility.
• Pass/Fail exam during orientation with a requirement to achieve at least 90%.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed ICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:1 for specific conditions.
• Titrate drips for sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin.
• Participate in 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and as-needed holiday requirements.
• Potentially float mainly to PCU or other hospital areas depending on abilities.
• Work with RT equipment.
• Read and interpret tele strips.
