About The Position

The Canonsburg ICU is an 8-bed unit that offers both intensive care and step-down capabilities, providing comprehensive care for a diverse patient population. Registered Nurses (RNs) in this department manage complex conditions across various specialties, including cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, nephrology, and GI. RNs in this department frequently care for patients experiencing sepsis, respiratory failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, substance abuse withdrawal, and much more. You'll thrive within our collaborative team structure, working alongside dedicated RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), hospitalist physicians, pulmonary intensivists and TeleICU, who are all committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting each other's professional development. Requirements

  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population.
  • Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population.
  • Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication.
  • Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care.
  • Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
