About The Position

The ICU night shift RN will work in a 16-bed Medical ICU at Corewell Taylor Hospital, a Magnet-designated facility. This unit provides care for patients with a variety of medical diagnoses, including those requiring ventilator support, medication management, and surgery recovery. Nurses will assist physicians with bedside procedures and collaborate with Intensivists and multidisciplinary teams to provide daily updates on patient progress. The RN utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures. They recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes, and partner with patients/families to incorporate their input and goals into the plan of care. The RN also develops and documents patient/family teaching strategies.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing Required
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
  • Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
