About The Position
Piedmont Eastside Medical is a 310-bed multi-campus facility serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. The Intensive Care Unit provides high-quality care to critically ill adult patients with varying critical conditions. This 24-bed mixed unit utilizes evidence-based best practices in caring for patients and their families. Although Piedmont Eastside is not a trauma or open-heart capable facility, it can care for critical patients of nearly all other varieties. Patient populations include neurosurgical patients requiring EVD and lumbar drain management; cardiac patients requiring IABP or Impella support, STEMI and post cardiac arrest patients, patients requiring targeted temperature management, as well as patients with multiorgan dysfunction or failure requiring CRRT, and various other conditions requiring intensive care and critical intervention.
Requirements
- Graduate of a nursing program
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
Nice To Haves
- One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting is required for PRN positions
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
- Functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
- Responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
