About The Position

The RN Practice provides professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting, supporting patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. This position is part time, working hours between Monday-Friday 8a-5p. The position does require occasional travel to other clinics for staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.
  • None.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.
  • AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
  • Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.

  • Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.
  • Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
  • Demonstrates clinical competence in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.
  • Supports efficient patient flow and resource utilization.
  • Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
  • Supports orientation and training of new employees.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
  • Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
  • Supports education activities within the department.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.
