About The Position

The House Supervisor/Weekend Premium (RN) is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. This position assists in contributing to the hospital's philosophy, objectives, educational and performance improvement efforts, while providing supervision to the nursing staff. The House Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of the nursing staff, patients, and patient care during their shift. The House Supervisor will work closely with the Intake and Admissions Department regarding patient admissions, discharges, and transfers during their shift. Nurses working the Weekend Premium option will work 12 hour shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each week.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing required or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
  • Currently licensed to practice by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
  • Thorough knowledge of TJC, HCFA, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 30 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of Handle with Care training and Service Excellence Training within 30 days of employment.
  • To remain on the Weekend Premium Program, nurses typically work 48 of 52 weekends in a 12 month period unless otherwise determined by the facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
