About The Position

Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a Night RN House Supervisor to lead and develop a team of health care professionals in their newly renovated facility. This role involves overseeing nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, managing nursing staff, and maintaining compliance with medical and security protocols in a secure environment. The RN House Supervisor will provide guidance and support to nursing personnel, coordinate with security staff and other healthcare providers, and act as a liaison between various stakeholders. The position requires the ability to step into direct patient care or charge nurse responsibilities as needed, proactive communication with physicians and healthcare teams, and response to medical emergencies. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and strict adherence to security measures are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Five years clinical RN experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must successfully complete annual requirements to include maintaining licenses, certifications, and passing an annual background check.

  • One year clinical leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, support, and manage nursing staff, including delegating tasks and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care while addressing operational needs, staffing adjustments, and adhering to security protocols.
  • Collaborate with all healthcare providers to facilitate and coordinate efficient, effective, quality healthcare.
  • Step into direct patient care or charge nurse responsibilities as needed to address staffing shortages or other critical needs.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, security staff, administration, and external healthcare providers.
  • Proactively communicate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate efficient, high-quality patient care and achieve desired treatment outcomes.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, coordinate critical care efforts, and ensure timely interventions.
  • Confer with the designated charge nurse and staff frequently and serve as a resource for them.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies.
  • Maintain strict security measures, ensuring compliance with facility policies on contraband control, patient interactions, and restricted areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.
