About The Position
Solara Specialty Hospitals Harlingen is a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital specializing in treatment for patients recovering from post-intensive care and medically complex conditions. The hospital provides intensive care and telemetry-level services, with a multidisciplinary team focused on personalized treatment plans and helping patients recover and transition to the next level of care. The RN House Supervisor supervises nursing staff, assesses patient needs, and provides nursing care. The role plans and organizes training for unit staff and participates in guidance and educational programs. It also supports nursing protocols and procedures, staff development, patient care documentation, and management of supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid state Registered Nurse license.
- Valid BLS certification.
- Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
- One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Supervisory skills and the ability to evaluate job performance.
- Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the work unit.
- Time-management skills and ability to organize priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
- Good and regular attendance.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate designated nursing staff; assign duties and coordinate nursing services.
- Participate in developing nursing protocols and procedures.
- Provide continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Assess patient needs, participate in providing nursing care, and ensure services are carried out and documented appropriately.
- Maintain patient health care records.
- Maintain supply inventory records and order supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
