About The Position

Bring your leadership skills beyond the bedside in this Full-Time Weekend Option (WEO) House Supervisor opportunity with BJC HealthCare. In this hospital-wide leadership role, you'll serve as the on-site nursing leader, supporting staffing operations, patient throughput, and clinical excellence across Progress West Hospital and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. As a key operational resource, you'll collaborate with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams while responding to rapid responses, patient concerns, falls, staffing needs, and other hospital-wide priorities. Every shift offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care and hospital operations.

Requirements

• RN
• 2-5 years experience
• Less than 2 years supervisor experience

Nice To Haves

• 2–4+ years of acute care RN experience
• Previous Charge Nurse or House Supervisor experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Experience managing patient flow, staffing, and operational challenges
• ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• 5-10 years experience

Responsibilities

• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Supervises the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization. Effectively responds to special circumstances and acts as the on site leader.
• Assists with patient care operations and integration of services between departments.
• Assists in the clinical development of nursing staff, including observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions and monitoring staff and unit compliance in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Functions as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers.
• Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
