This role is for an RN Hospital Team Lead in the MHTC Emergency Department, working day shifts. The position requires strong problem-solving abilities in complex situations, the capacity to work within budget and productivity targets, and participation in staff selection, evaluation, orientation, continued education, competency evaluation, and scheduling based on patient acuity. The Team Lead supports and partners with the Manager/Clinical Leader to ensure staff knowledge, skills, and behaviors align with unit goals. Outstanding relationship-building skills, particularly with physicians, are essential. The role is patient-focused with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service, and is accountable for achieving patient satisfaction targets. The Team Lead supports process improvement in operations, quality, and organizational change, and possesses knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements. Effective and persuasive communication, compassion, creativity, and consistent visibility are key. Participation in hospital and department committees, demonstrated ability in developing and mentoring staff, and leading by example with professional behavior are expected. Personal and professional accountability, a passion for nursing, and serving as a role model and coach for service standards and recovery are also crucial. The role involves participation in performance improvement activities and utilizing critical thinking for patient safety and experience, escalating issues as appropriate. Support for the professional nurse continuum and nursing clinical ladder (CARE) is also part of the role.
