About The Position

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, has been providing compassionate, dignified care to families across southwest Florida since 1980. They help patients with advanced illness live meaningfully while supporting their families with warmth, expertise, and respect. Empath Health is currently seeking an RN PRN to join their team. This role involves filling in at hospice houses in Village on the Isle, Venice, Port Charlotte, and Arcadia, with shifts available from 8am-8:30pm or 8pm-8:30am, requiring a minimum of 64 hours/month of availability. The position requires the RN to float if needed.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing.
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse
Valid Florida State Driver’s License
Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience
Experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred
Prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.

Responsibilities

Identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
Utilizing assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
Providing oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment.
