As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Electrophysiology Laboratory, you will blend the roles of a procedural/OR nurse and a floor nurse within a highly specialized and collaborative environment. The Electrophysiology Lab focuses on the treatment of patients with cardiac rhythm disorders, including pacemaker and ICD implantation, ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, and other advanced procedures. This position is well suited for nurses new to Electrophysiology who are eager to expand their skill set in a dynamic, technology-driven specialty. Prior EP, cardiac or ICU experience is welcome but not required. Nurses with experience in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring—from a variety of nursing backgrounds will find many of their skills translate well to the EP setting. All new team members participate in a comprehensive 12-week orientation, designed to provide hands-on procedural experience, strong clinical foundations, and ongoing support as you transition into the EP role. Our RNs work closely with electrophysiologists and the anesthesia team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced and innovative environment. A caregiver in this position works days, 6:45am—8:15pm. No weekends, on-call, or holiday requirements. Schedule during orientation: 7:00am—5:30pm (4x10s).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (willing to obtain with six months of employment)
  • One year of recent experience as an RN

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • Experience interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry independently in a clinical setting
  • Previous critical care nursing experience (any specialty) with strong high-acuity assessment skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
