Royal Oak's Hemodialysis Unit is a 10 bay and 2 room procedural area staffed with RN's who are solely responsible for dialysis treatments, a Unit Secretary, and a Dialysis Assistant responsible for machine cleaning and maintenance and nursing assistant duties. Our team members care for hospitalized patients in new onset/acute renal failure as well as inpatients with chronic end stage renal disease. Treatments are completed within the dialysis unit as well as within EC, critical care units, and select medical patients at bedside. The group possesses many years of collective dialysis experience and teamwork is our cornerstone. Royal Oak Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #2 hospital in Michigan and one of the top hospitals in the country. It is a major academic and referral center with Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma designations. The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence.
