About The Position

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their GI Lab/Endoscopy department. This is a per diem position. The RN will provide patient-centered care, planning, directing, and evaluating nursing care with a holistic approach. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, developing and evaluating care plans, accurate documentation, ensuring adequate supplies, operating equipment, and acting as an educator for peers, patients, and families. The role emphasizes service excellence and a healing environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • PALS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
  • Endoscopy experience or two years minimum in ICU, PACU, or ER.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to work independently, making sound decisions.
  • Must be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).

Responsibilities

  • Assume accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing “Patient-Centered Care” for an assigned group of patients.
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care while providing a holistic view, which may include dimensions of physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and functional status.
  • Conduct orderly collection of information to develop a comprehensive Standard of Care to meet identified patient care outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of a nursing plan of care.
  • Administer nursing care in accordance with established nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide initial assessments to establish a baseline for future comparisons to individualize care.
  • Perform ongoing assessment and reassessment to meet the patient’s changing needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation.
  • Ensure adequate supplies.
  • Operate equipment knowledgeably.
  • Act as an educator to peers, patients, and their families.
  • Support service excellence and a healing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Take call.
