About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for GI Assessment in the ECL. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, VUMC is a leading institution in patient care, education, and research. The RN will apply the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. This role involves effective communication with the healthcare team, collaboration in setting patient goals, and evaluating progress. The position also requires ongoing professional growth in line with Board of Nursing standards. The RN will analyze patient information to determine nursing diagnoses, continually evaluate patient progress, and implement appropriate interventions. Strategies to promote health and a safe environment are also key aspects of this role. Additional duties may be assigned beyond the general overview.

Requirements

  • LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
  • Relevant Work Experience
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

  • Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
  • Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
  • Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
  • Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
