About The Position
The Inpatient Geriatric Psych Unit at Samaritan Hospital is a 20-bed unit, and part of the Behavioral Health Center within the hospital. We offer a warm, attractive, homelike environment with both private and semiprivate rooms. An interdisciplinary team provides specialized care to meet the medical, psychiatric and social needs of the older adult. Older adults are more susceptible to depression and behavioral health problems due to their declining health and loss of friends and loved ones. We combine the expertise of Samaritan Hospital and The Eddy to address the unique psychiatric and psychological needs of the geriatric patient. For nearly 30 years, Samaritan Hospital has served as a resource for individuals dealing with psychological, psychiatric and addiction challenges.
