About The Position
The RN Float Women and Children’s Float Pool provides nursing and tech support to clinical areas within Women and Children’s Hospital. Nurses address the medical needs and treatment of patients ranging from newborns to adults. A thorough orientation is provided on Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, PICU, Women’s Surgery, and RNICU. Float staff must maintain yearly unit-specific competencies, and each unit provides education tailored to its patient population. Department-specific competencies must be completed within the provisional period.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Alabama or multistate nursing license.
- BLS certification required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
- PALS and NRP required within one year of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing and frequently changing tasks.
- Complete department-specific competencies within the provisional period.
