About The Position

Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity. Patient Population: Entire hospital with exception of women services and kids/NICU. Ratios: Acute care- 5/1- Admin Holds- 4/1- PCU- 4/1, CDU- 4/1. Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center | McKinney, Texas. Shift/ Schedule: Part Time | Night Shift | 12hr shifts | 7pm - 7am.

Requirements

Graduated from an accredited program in nursing.
Have BLS and ACLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting.

Nice To Haves

2-3 years of med/surg experience.
Preferred experience in float pool and step down.

Responsibilities

Coordinate patient care based on the nursing model.
Assess patients, plan personalized care, and evaluate responses to health issues.
Keep patients safe by understanding their needs and the healthcare setting for smoother transitions.
Delegate interventions to team members based on guidelines, patient condition, and team abilities.
Make important recommendations that impact patient outcomes.
Focus on patient and family needs.
Develop and adjust nursing care plans for desired outcomes.
Create a safe place for patients, families, and staff.
Help with emotional and physical pain to aid healing.
Incorporate the unique perspectives and requirements of patients into care plans.
Educate patients, families, staff, and the community continuously.
Evaluate and record learning progress.
Work with team and community to implement care plan, delegate tasks as needed.
Solve problems efficiently, utilizing resources effectively and acknowledging their limitations.
Continually seek professional development opportunities and contribute to community service.
