About The Position

Hinds LifeCare, a well-respected nonprofit agency in California’s Central Valley and a pioneer in hospice and palliative care, is seeking a RN Float to join their team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the mission, driven to provide the best care to patients and families during their final days, and supportive to loved ones left behind. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse - Float Nurse provides skilled nursing services to patients served by Hinds LifeCare, receiving direction and supervision from the Clinical Manager and Director of Hospice Operations. This position functions as a flexible clinical resource, floating between departments to support staffing needs, admissions, routine visits, and on-call coverage while ensuring high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care.

Requirements

Completed a professional nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing (prefer completion of a baccalaureate program in nursing).
One year experience in acute care facility or community health agency (hospice experience a plus).
Current RN Licensure and CPR Certification.
Valid driver's license, auto insurance, reliable transportation and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 35 lbs.).
Availability to a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

Float between hospice departments, service areas, teams, and care settings as assigned.
Adapt quickly to varying patient populations, caseloads, and workflow requirements.
Provide staffing coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, call-outs, and census fluctuations.
Support admissions, routine visits, continuous care, inpatient care, and on-call services as needed.
Maintain flexibility regarding schedules, assignments, and geographic coverage areas.
