RN Float Pool
About The Position
The float pool RN supports all adult acute care inpatient units: ICU/CCU, PCU, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, Rehabilitation, ED (qualified only). Assignments are based on competency and acuity. ICU floats to PCU; PCU floats to Telemetry. This role is vital in healthcare, coordinating patient care based on our nursing model. You assess patients, plan personalized care, and evaluate responses to health issues. You keep patients safe by understanding their needs and the healthcare setting for smoother transitions. You delegate interventions to team members based on guidelines, patient condition, and team abilities. Your professionalism and experience help you make important recommendations that impact patient outcomes.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in Critical Care/ER or combined Med Surg and Critical Care/ER experience
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
- RN – Registered Nurse license/certification
- BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
- Thorough knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, rules, and regulations, including those for nursing care certifications and accreditations.
- Familiarity with concepts such as health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention, and management.
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good grasp of general computer skills.

- Help with emotional and physical pain to aid healing.
- Incorporate the unique perspectives and requirements of patients into care plans.

- Work with team and community to implement care plan, delegate tasks as needed.
- Solve problems efficiently, utilizing resources effectively and acknowledging their limitations.
- Continually seek professional development opportunities and contribute to community service.
