About The Position

The Float Pool Registered Nurse is primarily responsible for all aspects of patient care while maintaining high performance level in quality, service, critical nursing skills, and critical thinking. The position will require floating to all Telemetry and Medical/Surgical Departments or Critical Care units including ICU, Progressive Telemetry (DOU) and Emergency (ED). The Registered Nurse must be familiar with and adhere to Regulatory Standards and Hospital Policies and Procedures.

Requirements

  • Excellent observation and sound nursing judgment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate care needs.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling Float Pool role obligation.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for all external candidates).
  • Current California RN License.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALs Certification.
  • One (1) year RN experience in a Telemetry Department (for Telemetry Medical/Surgical Departments).
  • One (1) year RN experience in a Critical Care setting (for Critical Care Departments).
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
