To provide optimum critical/emergency care to sick or injured patients transported by aircraft or other vehicle to UMMC or other designated facilities. This role requires knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries and disease for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. The position also demands knowledge of agents, equipment, procedures, and techniques for the provision of emergency and critical care nursing for inter-facility and scene transports. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm in emergency conditions and provide physical and psychological treatment and comfort to patients. The role involves exposure to noise, external weather conditions, and high altitudes, and requires adherence to weight and lifting restrictions. Flexibility to fill shifts at the Jackson UMMC campus or remote sites is also necessary.
