To provide optimum critical/emergency care to sick or injured patients transported by aircraft or other vehicle to UMMC or other designated facilities. This role requires knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries and disease for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. It also involves understanding agents, equipment, procedures, and techniques for the provision of emergency and critical care nursing for inter-facility and scene transports. The position demands strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to remain calm in emergency conditions, and the capacity to provide physical and psychological treatment and comfort to patients. Additionally, the role requires the ability to withstand exposure to noise, external weather conditions, and work in high altitudes, as well as maintaining compliance with weight and lifting restrictions. The ability to fill shifts at Jackson UMMC campus or remote site as required is also necessary.
