About The Position

The RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) at Paoli Surgery Center is a highly respected role in the Operating Room. As a Surgical First Assistant, the RNFA directly assists the surgeon with patient positioning, prepping and draping, controlling bleeding, providing wound exposure, suturing, mobilizing tissue, and directing other surgical staff. Specialties include General, Urology, Plastics, GYN, and others. This role offers opportunities for career development through certifications and advanced nursing degrees, with a Tuition Reimbursement Program providing up to $6,000 annually. Employees can also get involved in various committees, research projects, and the Clinical Ladder program, or serve as preceptors for the Perioperative Fellowship Program and new hires. Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience in perioperative nursing practice as both scrub and circulator.
  • RN Diploma, ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized RNFA Program (proof of verification required).
  • PA RN license OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
  • Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
  • ACLS required.
  • CNOR Certification.

  • BSN preferred.
