RN (Fellow) - Emergency & Med/Surg to ED
About The Position
The ED fellowship program is designed for new graduate registered nurses to develop competency in ED nursing to allow for adequate transition into an ED staff nursing role for both our BMC and Main NMC locations. Alternatively, you can also be considered for the "Medical Surgical to ED Fellow" which offers a 24-month fellowship program for new graduate Registered Nurses to assist in developing competency in nursing that will allow for an adequate transition into an Emergency Staff Nurse. This fellowship will provide time on our new 4 Clarkson Med/Surg unit – Opening December 2026! 4 Clarkson is a newly remodeled, 45-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including sepsis, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine conditions, and cardiac diseases. Our diverse patient population provides opportunities to build strong clinical judgment, time management, and critical thinking skills while gaining experience across multiple specialties. Designed with innovation in mind, 4 Clarkson features digital door signs, digital whiteboards, virtual nursing support, and virtual patient monitoring for high-risk patients to enhance communication, improve patient safety, and support bedside nurses. Nurses on 4 Clarkson will gain valuable experience managing titratable drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, and end-of-life care, making it an ideal environment for professional growth and skill development.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills required.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
