About The Position

The Emergency Department consists of an 11-bed Main ED, a 6-bed ED Fast Track, and a 7-bed ED Observation Unit. All ED nurses are expected to rotate through each of these areas regularly. In addition, nurses are assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening. Nurses can expect to be assigned a different area at minimum daily, and may be rotated during their shift, depending on patient volume and unit needs. May be assigned to assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed. Shifts are typically 7 on, 7 off, with 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next. Travelers are occasionally expected to float to other departments in which they are qualified to work. This could include taking a patient load if experienced and competent in that setting or could be task-oriented such as answering call lights, phones, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years recent RN experience in the Emergency Department specialty.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• American Heart Association PALS or ENPC certification.
• TNCC certification.
• Conscious sedation certification.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Main ED, ED Fast Track, and ED Observation Unit.
• Be assigned to Triage, Quick Registration, Covid Tent, and Entry Screening.
• Assist with Covid testing and/or immunization clinics as needed.
• Float to other departments in which they are qualified to work, potentially taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties.
• Work 12-hour Day Shifts (0700-1900).
