About The Position

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, uses the nursing process to provide professional nursing care and incorporate patient- and family-centered care principles in assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with patients and families, incorporates their input and goals into care planning, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning in the health record.

The Endoscopy unit supports patient care before procedures, during procedures, and in recovery. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week day-shift position at Grosse Pointe Hospital. The stated schedule is 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with additional call, including on-call weekends.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within five years.
• Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license required upon hire or transfer.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire or transfer.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required upon hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of RN experience preferred.
• Endoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients using the nursing process.
• Provide professional, quality nursing care in accordance with ANA scope of practice and Corewell Health policies and procedures.
• Incorporate patient- and family-centered care principles into nursing care.
• Partner with patients and families and use their input and goals when planning care.
• Develop teaching strategies for patients and families.
• Document patient and family education and learning in the health record.
