About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Endoscopy Department at Avita Ontario Hospital. The role provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric populations and addresses psychosocial, physical, and general care needs related to the surgical environment. The nurse communicates with surgeons and anesthesia staff about patient condition, helps maintain surgical equipment and inventory, participates in performance improvement activities, and prepares the operating room and surgical team for individual cases. The nurse also monitors, positions, and assists patients during procedures.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
Current BLS Certification.
Current ACLS Certification.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of work experience in the operating room.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations.
Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
Communicate continuously and as needed with surgeons and anesthesia staff about patient condition.
Assist with maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
Assess operating room equipment functioning and readiness.
Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure the surgical operating team’s appropriate needs are met.
Monitor, position, and assist patients during procedures.
