About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Emergency Services delivers compassionate, high-quality care to patients at Saint Joseph Jessamine, RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center, a 24/7 emergency room in Jessamine County, Kentucky. The RN provides individualized, comprehensive care by assessing patients, performing skilled procedures, and implementing and evaluating patient care plans. The role works with an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes and requires strong assessment and critical-thinking skills, a patient-first mindset, urgency, and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing upon hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing; new-hire RNs must enroll in a BSN program within two years of hire and complete it within five years of hire.
• Kentucky Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within six months.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course within 12 months.

Nice To Haves

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care in the identified practice setting.
• Assess patients and analyze problems and conditions using critical thinking to determine the need for standard, urgent, or emergent interventions.
• Implement or modify plans of care using assessment data, standards of care, and evidence-based practice, including nursing care coordination, patient and family education, and discharge planning.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary partnership in patient care.
• Integrate ethical provisions into nursing practice and preserve and protect patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Evaluate progress toward desired patient outcomes.
